Sri Lanka stocks lower at close of trade; CSE All-Share down 0.49%
Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the, and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the were Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:), which rose 13.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Meanwhile,Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:) added 12.96% or 3.90 points to end at 34.00 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:) was up 12.86% or 0.90 points to 7.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:), which fell 16.45% or 129.90 points to trade at 660.00 at the close. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:) declined 10.29% or 7.00 points to end at 61.00 and Tea Smallholder FactoriesPLC (CM:) was down 9.19% or 2.50 points to 24.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 75 and 50 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.63% or 0.28 to $43.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.29 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.45% or 6.00 to trade at $1325.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.69% to 192.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 146.470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.36.
