Sri Lanka stocks higher at close of trade; CSE All-Share up 0.52%




Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in theInformation TechnologyInvestment Trust and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.52% to hit a new 1-month high.


The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Alliance Finance Company PLC (CM:ALLI), which rose 36.71% or 277.10 points to trade at 1031.90 at the close. Meanwhile, ACL Plastics PLC (CM:APLA) added 20.42% or 39.00 points to end at 230.00 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 11.99% or 149.90 points to 1400.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which fell 23.91% or 3228.000 points to trade at 10272.000 at the close. Serendib LandPLC (CM:SLND) declined 23.25% or 386.20 points to end at 1275.00 and Ceylon Tea Services PLC (CM:CTEA) was down 14.95% or 123.90 points to 705.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 139 to 63 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alliance Finance Company PLC (CM:ALLI) rose to 3-years highs; rising 36.71% or 277.10 to 1031.90. Shares in Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) fell to 3-years lows; falling 23.91% or 3228.000 to 10272.000. Shares in ACL Plastics PLC (CM:APLA) rose to all time highs; gaining 20.42% or 39.00 to 230.00. Shares in Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) fell to 52-week lows; down 23.25% or 386.20 to 1275.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.08% or 0.46 to $42.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.71% or 0.32 to hit $44.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.89% or 12.05 to trade at $1358.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.00% to 188.985, while USD/LKR fell 0.35% to 145.110.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.52% at 95.56.
